Abstract
The study aimed to understand the daily work of community health agents in the rural area. For this, a qualitative study was carried out, whose participants were seven community health agents active in the rural area of ??a municipality in the Minas Gerais´´´ s inland city. An open interview was conducted, guided by a semi-structured script, between August and October 2017. The data were submitted to Bardin Content Analysis. It is observed that the daily life of the community health agent in the rural area has been marked by the insecurity resulting from the occurrence of assaults the long distances and difficulty in transporting and the management actions that do not match the reality of the community. This reality provokes feelings of moral suffering, but also perceives the presence of affective bonds and professional belonging. Thus, it is evident that it is essential to know the material and subjective reality of the daily work of the community health agent in the rural area, so that it is possible to contribute to the improvement of their work process as well as thinking workers' health strategies and continuing education that are consistent with their reality of life and construction of their doing arts.
