Abstract

Intimate partner violence against women is not a recent phenomenon in society. In the context of the SARS-CoV2 coronavirus pandemic, measures such as social isolation can directly impact women, increasing vulnerability to situations of intimate partner violence. More time with the aggressor in the domestic environment, difficulty in accessing safety nets made the formalization of a complaint in this context even more difficult. The general objective of the study is to understand the phenomenon of domestic violence during the Covid 19 pandemic in a municipality in the interior of São Paulo. This is a quali/quanti study, through documentary analysis in a delimited field study, carried out through the analysis of reports of violence against women by an intimate partner in a Police Station for the Defense of Women in the interior of São Paulo, in the period 01 from March to October 31, 2020. 254 incident reports were analyzed, drawn up by women aged 18 and over. The results revealed a population of women with predominant ages from 20 to 44 years, most with single marital status, with psychological violence being the predominant aggravation, occurring mostly within the victims' own homes. Knowing the cases of intimate partner violence will allow women's protection services greater visibility for the reorganization of their practices, construction of strategies and articulation of the service network.
