Abstract
This study intends to analyze cases suspected of reinfection by SARS-CoV-2 among Piraquara’s population, in the state of Paraná, to contribute to public health planning. This is a cross-sectional, quantitative, descriptive study, based on secondary data of Piraquara’s population, between March, 2020 and March, 2022. The authors identified 681 (N=681) suspected cases of reinfection, mostly among females (62,8%), and between ages 20 and 49 (76,7%). Almost all of the suspected cases (94,3%) occurred in the third wave of the pandemics, when over 70,0% of the population was completely vaccinated. It becomes clear, the importance of initiative and planning, based on population studies and scientific evidence in order to obtain success facing pandemics.
